Vedanta family tree

These names are symbols of the divine truth of yourself. It sometimes happens that a text is not attributed to the exact right author. Some seers may have been a group of seers. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that these people were ripe to pass on the knowledge that benefits us all, to discover our freedom. The lineage (paramparā) is not about hierarchy, but about the transfer of the most valuable.

Steadfast teachers such as Shankara (8th century), Vidyaranya (14th century) and Dayananda (20th century) reformed knowledge for new times. Modern teachers such as James Swartz, Neema Majmudar, Andre Vas and Rommert van Dijk use modern language and modern examples. Today we see more and more female gurus.

Every Vedanta teacher should teach the same self-knowledge with the same complete methodology. One truth, one self, one teaching.
