Interview with Andre Vas
For the third year in a row, Andre Vas was in Europe to teach the infinitely enriching knowledge of Vedanta. Before the seminar began, we took a walk through the picturesque German town of Kleve, not far from the Dutch border, in the serene Rhine basin.

Interview with Ferit Arav
As editors of vedanta.nl, we were pleasantly surprised to discover Ferit Arav’s website (arav.live). The website is as modest in design as the man himself. Its content is a treasure trove of predominantly Vedantic texts in Dutch, entirely in the spirit of Vedanta, and freely available.

Sanskrit course for Vedanta in English starts September 11th.
Sanskrit is the language in which Vedanta is revealed. The unique layering of Sanskrit words is unparalleled. The pronunciation and phonology of this language is very precise. It has made me very self-aware about the way I speak and articulate.

Advaita (non-duality)
Many of us are (perhaps vaguely) familiar with the concept of Advaita (non-dualism). Reality appears to consist of a multiplicity, but in reality is not-two, but one. How on earth? Well, the ground of everything is simply consciousness, and all impermanent things are a temporary expression of that.

Vedanta family tree
These names are symbols of the divine truth of yourself. Through these ways the knowledge has been passed on that benefits us all, to discover our freedom.
Every Vedanta teacher teaches the same self-knowledge, if all goes well, with the same complete methodology. One truth, one self, one teaching.

Discover true freedom
Welcome to the timeless wisdom of Advaita Vedanta, a non-dual philosophy rooted in the ancient Vedas. Through revered texts such as the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and Brahma Sutra – we explore the deepest questions of life: “Who am I? What is my relationship to the cause of the universe? What is the ultimate purpose of life? How do I permanently free myself from the feeling of being a small-limited-mortal being? What was there before the universe came?”

Bhagavad Gita
In our study group in Arnhem, we have recently been intensively involved in studying the Bhagavad Gita. We used the translation by Rory Mackay for that. This Vedanta expert has also provided each chapter with explanations and fascinating commentary.
A participant of our study group, Harrie de Kruijff, made a summary of the chapter prior to each meeting. All 18 chapters of the summary have been compiled by him and can be downloaded here.
