This point is so named because words must be so arranged or so uttered by the teacher that they will properly remove ignorance in the mind of the reader or listener, so that the subject of the text, which is in the form of refined meaning (not the physical printed words themselves), can blossom in the aspirant (adhikārī).
The next step is the relationship (sambhanda) between the means (of knowledge) (sādhana in this case vedānta) revealed in the text, and the goal or effect (sādhya), namely freedom, freedom from suffering, freedom from desire etc. This second relationship is called sādhana sādhya sambandhaḥ.
Together they form the fourth point (sambhanda) of the anubandha catuṣṭayam, the fourfold requirements that an effective Vedānta text will and must meet.
