Science of Consciousness

avyabhicarini bhaktih

avyabhicāriṇī bhaktiḥ

Unwavering devotion. As so often in Vedānta, it has two meanings. An implicit absolute, true one: A mind that (spontaneously or not) relentlessly returns to dwelling on its highest aspiration or fact, liberation or freedom. Or an explicit, relative one, as an intermediate step: A mind that (spontaneously or not) returns to devotion to īśvara, which means “considering everything as īśvara,” the divine, both in action (karma yoga) and in meditation (upāsana yoga).

The explanation of this Sanskrit term was written by Simon de Jong.
