Without (an-) resting place, solid ground, place of residence or resignation (avasthā). Without stability. Lack of conclusion. This leads to the tiresome and false idea of infinite regression or emptiness.

This is the problem with Buddhist mantras like: gate gate para gate para saṃgate bodhi svāhā, gone, gone, passed, completely bypassed, oh awakening, oh salvation. Represented with Buddha statues, behind which a smaller, more subtle Buddha appears again and again, such as a Droste effect or Babushka dolls.
It is found at the end of the Heart Sutra, often cited as the best-known Buddhist scripture and included in the Prajñaparamita ('Perfection of Wisdom') section of the Mahāyana (great vehicle) Buddhist canon. It is also called the Heart-Calming Mantra.
The problem with this is that you would never be anything, but of course that's not true. You are the only substance that is, that is complete constancy, and yet free. Even though we don't know what consciousness is, one thing we do know for sure, it is without qualities, experiences and attributes, hence freedom.
It is as if you can go back endlessly in consciousness, in an even deeper dimension that perceives or something like that. Vedānta says: 'No, there is only one dimension in the end, one consciousness, and that is me'. We are not coming from anywhere, we are not going anywhere. I can resign myself to the fullness that I am, it is already good as it is. Then I can also resign myself to being an apparent human being.
This conclusion (siddhānta ) and resting place is I, existence itself, radiant as consciousness, the only avasthā (residence). This is sat cit ānanda itself, truth-being-existence, awareness, bliss.
