Science of Consciousness

Ananta

The word ānanda is derived from Ananta, and signifies the boundless fullness which is infinite bliss. The famous sat cit ānanda as a designation of truth is rendered in the taittirīya upaniṣad as satyam jñānam anantam brahma (brahmānanda vallī 2.1.1).

The sage (jñānī) has fun because she or he recognizes that consciousness is so endless that it can manifest entire cosmoses through māyā and engage in ignorance in individual cases.

The explanation of this Sanskrit term was written by Simon de Jong.
