Sometimes this term is used to indicate the occult or yogic powers and achievements that must be granted and performed upon a disciple in order to attain freedom. These are also called siddhis. A big misunderstanding, because whatever you do, special or trivial, you are already free, but simply don’t know it, and don’t know that only correct complete self-knowledge can set you free.
Extended definition:
- siddhaAccomplished, fulfilled. Achieved the highest goal. Thorough, skilled, notorious, or adept. So can have the meaning in a vedānta verse of the highest self-knowledge range. Self-realization thus.
