VEDANTA
Science of Consciousness

What is Vedanta?

Advaita Vedanta is a means of freedom.
Because we are already free and whole (non-dual), but do not understand how, knowledge is the means.

This is for everyone, because we already are the truth, including you! Yet we need a mind that can listen purely to the universal non-dual wisdom, as formulated in the Upanishads, and passed on by teachers to this day.

The beauty of Vedanta is that you learn what it takes to be wise and free. It is a precise and complete teaching that covers all aspects of reality.

The 4 goals in life

  1. Artha, living in safety and security
  2. Kama, living with pleasure and joy
  3. Dharma, living with social involvement
  4. Moksha, living in freedom and enlightenment

Vedanta Study Group

In a study group, a book about Vedanta is read and discussed per chapter. “The Essence of Enlightenment” by James Swartz is very suitable for that. There is a Vedanta study group in Arnhem, among other places. If you live somewhere else, you can get in touch with other interested parties through this site.

James Swartz

James Swartz is a Vedanta teacher who lived in India for a large part of his life and gained a lot of knowledge about Vedanta and the Vedas.
He has written an inspiring book that is very suitable to read and discuss in a Vedanta study group.
